REDESIGN

Konbanwa is a vendor pop-up and car meet with a unique experience of a curated playlist of Y2K (& Heisei) era music. The concept will be a “pirate radio” experience, with selected music coming from 4 major styles: Jungle Drum n Bass, Deep House, Hip Hop, and J-Pop. The visuals are a key factor in this experience, and the Y2K aesthetic can turn out to be bland, uninspired, and generic. Therefore the moodboard and key inspiration was drawn specifically from polygonal Sega Dreamcast and Playstation 1 games, especially Jet Set Radio, Ridge Racer R4, Street Fighter III, and Sonic Adventure.
